Speaker Biography:
Luo Bin is a senior engineer at the China Ship Development and Design Center. He graduated with a master's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014 and has since been working at the China Ship Development and Design Center, primarily engaged in the development of ship propulsion systems. He has led several key projects funded by the Military Science Committee (with funding at the ten-million-yuan level) and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.
Abstract:
The power and propulsion system is the core system of a ship platform, with its primary function being to provide the energy and power required for ship maneuverability. The configuration of the propulsion system is closely related to the ship's speed performance, economy, acoustic stealth, and other characteristics. Following a forward R&D approach driven by operational requirements and enabled by technological advances, this report summarizes the development goals and trends of propulsion systems, as well as propulsion system solutions for different platforms.
