Abstract:
Given the complexity of the navigational environment and the diversity of ship encounter scenarios, the safety and reliability of ship navigation depend on the accurate and real-time perception of the navigational situation by onboard sensors. In response to these requirements, this talk will focus on the latest research achievements of our group in this field, including: (1) ship-side multi-sensor fusion perception; and (2) scene understanding and reasoning for ship navigation.

Abstract:
The deepening implementation of the maritime power strategy has created an urgent demand for ocean observation with high spatiotemporal resolution and high dynamic responsiveness. This talk focuses on the frontier interdisciplinary direction of "Marine Robotics and Adaptive Ocean Observation," highlighting key technologies such as intelligent control, mobile observation, and adaptive adjustment of new-generation marine robots—including Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)—in complex marine environments. The talk will also explore how to integrate data-driven machine learning algorithms with classical predictive control theory to enable marine robots to build adaptive observation networks with the capability of "observing, learning, and optimizing simultaneously," thereby providing technical support for the future construction of unmanned operation and maintenance systems and precision perception networks in deep-sea environments.
